Latest news

Monday 29 April 2024

We will be holding a series of open days during the week beginning 13th May where you can find out how the latest developments in hearing technology can help improve your hearing health and lifestyle. Whether you're new to hearing aids or are looking to upgrade your current devices, these open days are a chance to discover how you can hear more and hear better!

Hearing technology is accelerating at a faster pace than ever. Longer lasting rechargeable batteries, the use of AI to help with speech in noise situations, health monitoring features and new innovative designs and styles, are all part of the latest hearing aid developments from the World’s leading manufacturers.

Spring is usually a busy time for new hearing aids being launched on the UK market, but the recent sheer numbers and the quality of these products has been astonishing! All 8 of the major hearing aid companies have brought something new and innovative to the table. Our open days traditionally focus on one product, but this time they really are open to everyone interested in hearing aids.

If you book a free appointment at one of our open days, you will benefit from video otoscopy to check the health of your ears, a hearing test and assessment with an explanation of the results, and a discussion of your hearing difficulties and lifestyle in order to discover the most suitable solution for your individual requirements. If you then decide to undertake a 60-day trial period of a new pair of hearing aids, you will benefit from up to £400 off plus a free 5-year warranty and a free accessory which could include a TV streamer, remote control or premium charger, depending on the devices selected.*

We are not just hosting our open days at our Scarborough premises, but some of our satellite clinics as well. The dates for your diary are as follows;

Monday 13th & Thursday 16th – Charlwood Hearing Care, 10 Castle Road, Scarborough.

Tuesday 14th – The Duchy Hospital, Harrogate & Bondgate Clinic, Helmsley.

Wednesday 15th – Filey Opticians & Hunmanby Opticians.

Friday 17th – Visioncare Optometry, York.

If you’d like to find out how the latest hearing developments can benefit you, book your free appointment at one of our open days by calling 01723 369505 or emailing

Open Days Return!

We are delighted to announce the return of our open days!

The pandemic had halted our popular open days where we would showcase the latest developments in the hearing industry and bring them to you with special offers and exclusive discounts. However, with the fourth jab rollout in first part of the year, the falling infection rate in the second part of the year, and more of a return to some kind of normality, we feel the time has come to bring them back. We’ll still be taking precautions, for example by asking all attendees to wear a face covering if they can, and by allocating everyone a specific time slot and not accepting walk-ins.

The focus of this Year’s open days will be the Starkey Evolv AI range. Not only has it been this year’s best-selling hearing aid with the most advanced features, but Starkey are also about to add the first ever Bluetooth Completely-In-Canal (CIC) style to the range. This will be the world’s smallest Bluetooth enabled hearing aid and is an extremely exciting development in the hearing industry.

If you’d like to find out more about the Evolv AI range then give us a call to book an appointment at one of our open days. These free appointments are limited and on a first come first served basis.

We are holding two open days; at our main Scarborough branch on Thursday 30th June, and at our York clinic at Visioncare Optometry in Acomb on Friday 1st July. We’ll be able to discuss all the features of Evolv AI, the wireless accessories available, and how to navigate your way through the smartphone app. In Scarborough, Margaret Black from Starkey will also be on hand to answer any questions you have. There’ll be exclusive offers and discounts only available to those who attend on the day, including a free wireless accessory (as pictured below*). To reserve your place on either of the open days, just call us on 01723 369505.

*Subject to availability, conditions apply.
